Back Care Awareness Week – 7th – 11th October 2013 – Caring for Carers

This year Back Care Awareness Week runs from 7th to 11th October 2013.  This year’s focus is on Carers – ‘Caring for Carers’.

Carers provide invaluable help and assistance to their children, friends, relatives, and partners, but what happens when their work leads to back pain, compromising their ability to care?  Back pain is endemic among carers: a 2011 survey found that 70% of carers experienced back and shoulder pain*.  Many carers are older people that have a long term health problem or disability themselves and this is exacerbated by the work that they are doing as carers which can involve a lot of lifting and manual work.  Back pain seriously affects the quality of life of those who should be most valued in our society, as well as impacting on their caregiving work, which saves the NHS and local authorities very significant sums of money.

To help local carers that may be experiencing back pain and other musculoskeletal issues and need some help themselves, Waterside Chiropractic is celebrating Back Care Awareness Week by offering 25% off the McTimoney chiropractic initial consultation/treatment price of £65 for any carers that book an appointment during this week (7th-11th October), making the cost of the initial consultation/treatment only £48.75.  When making the appointment, please quote ‘Back Care Awareness Week Blog’.

McTimoney chiropractic is precise, gentle and effective technique, used regularly by many to help manage back, neck and joint pain.  The technique is suitable for the whole family: from newborn babies and pregnant women to grandparents – and even your pets.

McTimoney chiropractic involves checking the whole body and where necessary performing gentle adjustments to help realign the individual bones of the skeleton. This technique allows the nervous system to work as well as it possibly can, bringing about optimum health and wellbeing in the body.

McTimoney chiropractic has been found helpful for thousands of people for over 30 years and it is growing by nearly 150,000 new patients per year. Over 8,000 people are treated with McTimoney chiropractic each day.
